The 2004 Sectional Championship Team with Eddie Deeley.
On January 11th, Natick Wrestling, along with War Dogs WC, will be hosting the Ed Deeley War Dogs Winter Classic at Natick High School. Wrestlers in grades K-8 from all over NE will be competing. The tournament memorializes the late, great Eddie Deeley.
Founder of the Natick Youth Wrestling Program
Lifelong Natick Resident
Natick HS Football and Wrestling
Natick Police Officer
Marine - Boxer - (roommate and good friends with Ken Norton, World Hvy Weight Champ)
Member of the first Natick Wrestling Team, 1965
Former President of both the Natick Football Booster Club and The Natick Wrestling Association
Ed was Natick's biggest supporter. From starting the Natick Youth Wrestling program in the early '90s until his passing in 2004, nobody was a bigger fan, supporter, and contributor to Natick Wrestling.
At the 2004 D2 Sectional Championship, Natick was in a tight two-day race with Franklin, LS, and Winchester for the title. Natick eventually prevailed, and although Eddie was very sick, he stayed there from start to finish. Eddie, unfortunately, passed away shortly after this tournament. The following year, Natick wrestling parents and coaches established the Edward Deeley Memorial Youth Tournament.
